Callie sick again Well Callie is sick again this time it's throwing up. Last Tuesday she was sedated for X-rays on her knees and well the next morning she threw up at 3am three times and we brushed it off as just from the sedation. Well sense then she has been acting weird she normally hates laying on any floor that is not carpet and she has been laying on the tile/granite in front of the gas fireplace we don't use. She is also panting a lot more then normal. Well Sunday she threw up once, then Monday 4 times, and late last night/ early this morning she threw up three times. We have a vet appointment at 4:20pm today. I'm thinking she may have picked up yet another virus or something like she did a few weeks ago with the diarrhea. If that is the case I'm thinking we will be using her carrier every time we go to the surgeons office and the regular vets office even though she will hate it because she likes to greet everyone but she can't keep picking up stuff, poor little thing has not had an easy couple of months. Please keep her in your prayers. |
Callie Oh no, poor little Callie. She has been through a lot recently and so sorry that she is sick again. It does seem that vet visits are unlucky for her tummy and you may be wise to confine her when she goes again. Praying that the vet visit brings positive news that she just has a tummy upset that will be better soon. Praying for her quick recovery. I know you are stressed over this but I hope all will be well after she has seen the vet. |
Praying for Callie. Sounds like she might have a fever if she is lying on the tile/granite and panting. Poor girl! I know what you mean about carrying into the vet's office. Max prefers to be held, but I would like to let Teddy walk. I'm just fearful about what he might pick up. :( I'm always nervous walking them around outside too and try to go up to an area where probably fewer dogs go. I'll be watching for your update after your appointment. |
My good thoughts and prayers are with you and Callie. I know mine can have an off day where they vomit but you know something is wrong when they keep doing it over and over. I hope you get some answers of what is going on and how to treat it |
I hope this is not pancreatitis. :( Sometimes anesthesia can set it off. Keep us posted Taylor. |
Poor Callie. It is very warm and humid here and Sissy is constantly going from the couch to the hardwood floor. But being she is vomiting I agree more with the possibility of a fever. Please keep us updated as to how she is doing. Prayers and food thoughts for Callie. |
Oh Taylor, I am sorry Callie is sick again. I am so glad you are going to the vet as this sounds so much like what we just went through, and are continuing to work through with Mylee. Keep us posted. |
Praying for little Callie and hoping you can stay strong, too. Let us know what you find out at the vet as soon as you can. |
Sending prayers for Callie, poor baby. |
Prayers for Callie! So sorry she is sick again. |
So sorry to hear that Callie is sick again! How stressful! Praying it's nothing serious! |
Praying for callie and hope she is feeling better soon. |
I am sorry to hear about little Callie. I hope she starts feeling better real soon. |
Sorry I didn't update sooner our internet is not working well. She refused to go into the exam room until they weighed her on the big scale ( the vet tech we had prefers to put her on the small dog one). She did not have a fever and she checked out well to the vet had bright eyes and wasn't acting super bad or really sick at all so the vet thinks it was just a little bug and gave her some anti nausea medicine through a shot and then they gave her fluids. We also got a pill anti nausea medicine to give her but not until tomorrow night. We have to do chicken and rice for three days. She ate some chicken and rice a few hours ago and has kept it down. If it gets worse or does not get better we have to go back for blood work. We know for sure it was nothing she ate because Sammy was here Sunday and they both ate the same things and he is fine. Thanks everyone and please keep her in your prayers. |
Callie update So happy that she is feeling better and taking food, and keeping it down. You must be so relieved that she had no fever or serious infection. Anti nausea meds are great when they are feeling sick, and Callie must feel much more comfortable having taken them. Praying she continues to feel good and that she stays that way. Hope you feel less stressed too now, knowing she will be ok. Hope after a good night's sleep you will both have a better day tomorrow. Thanks for the update. :-) |
