Lily is having a problem maintaining her body temperature due to the systemic infection. If they put her on the warming blanket she becomes very hot at 98 degrees which is actually low. If they take her off of it, within 20 minutes her temp plummets to 96. So, this is a concern...hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon. She needs good blood flow to heal. Her white count did show some immature cells so that does mean that her bone marrow is responding to try to fight the infection. The wound by the mouth is actually not inside the mouth...it is external, so that is good news. Her teeth look good. The one wound on her flank is a big concern and they are applying warm compresses to that.

They think that possibly she might have hepatitis due to the infection and that is why her enzymes are elevated. Further diagnostics will be done as needed.

Oh Linda! Just now reading this and my thoughts and prayers are with this little one. She is in the best hands as far as care and I know that the team looking after her at Gulf Coast is loving her like she's never been loved before. Bless her little heart!

Afternoon Update
 
Our little flower is holding her own. She is still not wanting to eat and does not like being warmed up. They may just let her stay out of the warming Bair hugger to see if she can reset herself. They, of course, will monitor her and not let her get below 95.

The one good sign they saw today is she is looking for attention and wanting to be held which tells them she is at least medicated well enough that she is not in pain.

Hopefully she is a fighter and will come through it all ok. She did tell me it is touch and go. :(

Could barely stand to read this baby's story. God bless Linda and all those helping little Lily Rose and I'm praying she can get all the help she needs to bring her to the best health possible for her. I'm literally sick to my stomach after reading what this little thing has and is and will be going through.

OMG poor baby girl!:(:(:( I couldn't click on her body pics...:(:(:(. So glad she's getting proper care, hoping to hear only good news on this baby girl.

Just can't get Lily Rose off my mind. Mucho thanks to YHR for all they do! This little one needs to be heald and given some loving attention.

I was just checking in to see how Lily Rose is doing. I'm praying that she is a strong little girl and will get through this with flying colors. She needs to survive this so she can go to a loving home that will treat her the way she deserves to be treated! Thanks Linda for updating us!

This poor baby :( It kills me to think about what she has been through. I am so glad you got ahold of her and she is getting the treatment she needs. I will be thinking about her...

Just read about Lily Rose and it is so sad what people can allow to happen. I'm glad at least Linda she is in your Vets hands and she knows that people actually care for her and about her. Thank you once again for all that you and your wonderful team do.

Linda, I tried to call you yesterday. I'm sure you are so busy with all of this going on. PLEASE let me know if I can go to Gulf Coast and do anything - hold her, take different foods to try to get her to eat, etc., anything at all. I can just sit with her in the ICU, if necessary. In the meantime, I donated to her page on yorkiehavenrescue,com, I know her bills must be mounting. I'll donate again after the 1st of the month! Prayers coming her way...

Good news on that she wants some attention..that\'s just great. I am so thankful she is not in pain...her situation just breaks my heart.

I think she is a fighter, and will come through this! :thumbup:
