Here is also an old thread talking about pancreatitis that might help too. I wish you the best with your little one. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...creatitis.html |
Yes, Piccolo had Pancreatitis when she was 3, poor thing. She spent three days at the ER getting fluids. It was over a Thanksgiving weekend and I am so thankful that she got through it okay. Hope things get better for your little one and it sounds like you are getting some good advice about being careful about treats and food. |
Pancreatitis can be deadly. I hope Ollie is in the hospital on 24 hour IV fluids. Food is not really the only cause for pancreatitis but keeping them on low fat diets is important if they are prone to it. I am sure your vet will advise you on that when Ollie is better. Here is a great informational link about pancreatitis: http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body...creatitis.html Please keep us posted on Ollie....saying prayers for a quick recovery. |
Hoping for a full recovery of your little one. After seeing my sister's dog have a seizure, I knew I would never give my puppy people food. He actually had a seizure after eating Benneful (sp?) canned food, not people food. Since Sophie is now on a low protein diet, we no longer (may should not have in the first place) accept doggie treats when going through bank drive-throughs, etc. Poor baby, she is use to getting one and now they are totally off limits since I don't know what is in them. |
