I agree with the others. Just checking to see if there was any updates. |
She goes to to the vet tomorrow so we will see what happens. If she's out of options I will deff be seeing a specialist ! |
I would definitely as about bile acid testing...it is relatively inexpensive and will rule out MVD or liver shunt which can have these symptoms. It happened with one of my pups and he was not vomiting as much as yours. Here is a link to the story about him: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...ver-shunt.html |
Poor little pup. Saying prayers things work out for you. |
Thank you to everyone who responded! We just got back from the vet... The dr says it may be a bacteria called helicobacter pylori. She was given medicine for that and also the pepcide ac again which helped the first time. She also had blood test for her thyroid and also to see if it could be that bacteria. I mentioned liver shunt and bile acid test and she said if Bella had a liver shunt her behavior would be weird, which it's not so I guess she didn't feel the need to do any of those kinds of tests. If this doesn't help next step is endoscopy, biopsies and all that stuff. |

I hope it is what your vet suspects and the medicine helps her. |
Portosystemic Shunts FAQ From that link: What are the clinical signs of a liver shunt? Clinical signs are often seen at a young age and include small stature, poor muscle development, behavioral abnormalities (circling, disorientation, unresponsiveness, staring into space, head pressing), seizures, and quiet demeanor. Other less common signs include drinking or urinating too much, apparent blindness, diarrhea, and vomiting. In some animals the signs are associated with eating protein. Other animals are diagnosied when they take a long time recovering from anesthestics (i.e. barbiturates) or sedatives (i.e. acepromazine). Some animals show no signs until they are older, when they develop bladder and kidney infections and stones. |

Oh! Thank you for letting me know! If this med doesn't help and her blood tests come back negative for anything I think I will be seeing a second opinion. Thanks so much! |
