The munchkin came home this afternoon! I missed her so much, but will admit I cried for awhile when we got her home because she wanted to run around so bad so she spent a long time whining. We weren't sent home with pain killers, but we are going to call and ask again about them because when we were trying to do her therapy she started violently shaking. We had to give her a giant cone because last time she managed to get around the smaller cone and chew her stitches out within a week, so she now has a larger one to avoid that. Her appetite is normal. She ate and drank when we got home and has had a bowel movement and has peed three times. She is toe touching but not walking on it, which is to be expected, but she seems sore on her other leg...so we are going to watch her very closely to try and keep that leg safe. I also noticed that in my previous post I said her pen was 1 foot by 2 foot but what I should have said is it is one panel but two panels now, so 2 feet by 4 feet instead of her usual 4 feet by 4 feet. |
I'm just seeing this thread and wanted to offer my positive healing thoughts and prayers. I do hope she does well and heals quickly. I really have no advice, I have absolutely no experience with this, nor do I have a stroller for Winston. But if the need ever arose, I wouldn't object to it...at all. Nothing but the best for our furbabies... |

So glad Sophie is home, sending prayers for a speedy recovery! I think a stroller is a great idea. You can use it at home during her recovery, and I'll bet you'll use it afterwards too. I wasn't sure if I would use mine, or if I would be embarrassed. I bought one on craigslist for $20 to try it out & I LOVE it! We use it at local craft fairs, flea markets etc. I love having a way to keep the furkids off the hot pavement, & to make sure no one steps on them while I'm distracted shopping. I REALLY love having a way to carry all the stuff I buy, and a cup holder for my drink too. Check out craigslist, you may be able to buy an inexpensive one to use to keep her close to you as you move around the house. I'll bet you both will love it. Hugs to Sophie! |
