Could this have been a seizure?? My first time posting but I have been reading for years..:wavey: My teacup Bubba was laying between my legs in the recliner as he often does when he all the sudden jumped up using his back legs only thrusting himself at me, I thought it odd that his front legs were up close and tight by his face as if they wouldn't move. He did this thrusting move three times before I picked him up (a matter of seconds) at which point I cradled him like a baby (he hates) and held his front legs with my hands while rubbing his pads with my fingers. He was trembling as if he was cold and kinda spacy but looked at me when I said his name. After a couple minutes his legs relaxed and he went back to his spot on the chair and eventually running out the back door barking at the air :animal36 My husband told me the day before he saw him walking sideways for a brief moment so he picked him up and held and talked to him asking him if he was drunk :beermug: (Yes we talk to them as if they would answer us back, lol) He didn't think to tell me about it until this happened. He has been 100% fine since, eating~drinking~barking at air~playing with his mates but I did bring him to work with me today to keep an eye on him and I will do so the rest of the week. Has anyone seen this before or heard of it?? :yorkiej: Thank You for all the great info on here :yorkietal |
Hi & Welcome to YT ! It sounds like a possible neck or shoulder issue. I would say a Vet visit is in order here. |
We have an appoiment at 12:30 tomorrow. I know they will draw blood which I'm not looking forward to because he is tiny and will scream/cry but I will bring some chicken breast to treat him as a distraction. My heart hurts so much when they hurt.. |
When my Bella had blood drawn, I covered my ears and crouched down in the corner of the examination room because I was afraid she was going to give a piercing scream. The vet looked at me like I was crazy, and Bella actually licked him on the face as he was drawing blood--she handled it much better than I did! I hope Bubba has a great day at the vet today. Keep us posted on how it turns out! |

Yes that is the spot we usually use as well, although last time, we had to draw from the leg. |
Ok the we went to a new vet by my office as my office has moved and I'm taking him with me to work daily right now and I want something close in case of emergencies. Mind you I have never had any issues with my babies so other than vaccines I never went. Besides this place being AMAZEBALLZ!! The doc confirmed Bubba was indeed having seizures, she went over everything with him as if he was her own. The have done a complete blood panel and I will start getting results tomorrow up to 72 hours depending on the test. All my anxiety of my boy having the blood draw and he didn't even whimper, my 4 pound stud muffin!!! |
