Hummer | 05-10-2014 09:03 AM | Anyone with a yorkie with swallowing difficulties? Hey guys...its Hummer's mom again....we are still hanging on. We have now cleared up a horrible infection and hummer is clearly much better. We did however, so broken hearted to say, that hummer began having more problems with his airway being blocked after eating. He does not have a collapsing trachea but after a flouroscopy, the doc says he doesnt quite have a "normal" swallow. He believes that Hummer may have a degenerative disease which is affecting his swallowing........some meals he is fine other I have learned to syringe "goo" out of his throat then he is perfectly fine. I have to feed him small meals 4 times a day and work through the process. ANYONE dealt with this before? PLEASE give any input you may have.... my vet tells me to decide his quality of life. Other than that he is my precious little hummer and has been through so much. Thanks guys!! Pamela |
