Urinating after Spay Hello, Dakota was just spayed on Saturday. Vet said she peed in her sleep that night (which she said was normal after spay). We got her home and she moved slowly and couldn't lay down. Every time she tried she would spaz out and have to sit. We finally got her to lay down but she couldn't sleep. We kept her in her kennel that night and then she came to bed early in the morning with us. Last night (Monday) she was in bed with us after having a great day, (running and playing normally) and she had wet our bed at 2 am. Today she is moving slowly again, can't lay down and her stitches look a little tender especially the bottom stitch that looks fleshy. Is urination common issue in the middle of the night after a spay and would it be possible that her stitches are long and every time she lays down it hits the cut and hurts her? I'm very sad. thanks, Maggie |
I'd get her back in to the vet to be sure all is normal and be sure she's given pain medication on time. |
Lola didn't pee in her sleep or have any accidents. The first night I slept on the living room floor with her, in the middle of the night she walked 2 rooms over to her pee pads and peed. By the next day she was mostly back to normal. The only time her stitches seemed to bother her was if she layed on her belly (so she layed on her side), stretched her body, or was carried in certain ways. I'd take her to the vet. |
I would definitely take her to the vet. Good luck! |
