University of penn What kind of costs am I looking at here? What's it cost if we'd show up to the ER and for a possible admission. Share your experiences here... |
You can pre-book at the University Hospital, so you do not have to go in as an Emergency patient. At the three vet hospitals I have been at, and this is in Canada - Toronto, the specialist consult can run you anywhere from $185 to $250 dependent on what specialty you consult with. Sometimes the hospitals will ask for a deposit of $500 or more, prior to you when you go in for your appointment. That is an effort to prepay for the costs of diagnositics your specialist might ask for. Your dog's medical records should be forwarded to the hospital so that un-necessary tests are not repeated. I do hope that this helps. |
I am sure if you call them they will be happy to tell you. Texas A&M which is another vet school clinic charges $150 for an emergency. Before admission they let you know exactly what will need to be done and what the charges are. They accept 1/2 of the total as a down payment and then you can make arrangements at time of discharge to pay over a six month period. I have no idea what Penn charges. |
