Gucci is in good shape today, heading out for a very short walk, he'll be wearing his sweater EVEN THOUGH it slows him down and shortens the walk.:animal36
For anyone else who happens along....a board certified specialist is highly educated in whatever field he/she specializes in. There is SO much more than taking a dog's temperature. The above description is just not what they are about. That is an insult...or should I say would be if the person really knew what he was saying. Clearly he does not know what he would be paying for, but I am not banging my head against a wall. At this point my comments are for those who come along wanting information about dentals. There are some excellent links that I have provided and hopefully it will be good information for someone looking.

You get what you pay for is my motto.

OP, just click on the exclamation point and ask for the thread to be closed. They do not delete threads just willy nilly and at someone's request. That is covered in the YT rules.

Just because I choose to give good information, you flip out? You are posting your information and I am posting mine. We all have different opinions...that is what this forum is all about.

Not sure why you have taken such a fit....I was trying originally to assist you but you don't want that...however, other people MAY find the information I have to be what they are looking for.

And, NO I will not go away when people are recommending things that I believe could harm dogs.

I have read enough about these anesthesia free dentals to be concerned...yes, there are people on this forum who would put their pups through them....I am not one of them. Until the AVDC or AAHA or ACVA find that they are safe to do, not going to happen with any of mine and I will continue to do my best to inform people about their websites and information.

Poor guy. I don't think a near drowning permanently damages lungs. Could be wrong, but never heard of such a thing.

I would want more definitive information on what is going on with his lungs, for many reasons, including whether or not he can handle anesthesia.

It sounds like he is going to need teeth extractions, which definitely need to be done under anesthesia. The estimate is right in line with what I am looking at for my boys -- we are 50+ miles outside of D.C.

Starts around $300. $100 for each potential extraction depending on the difficulty, and $100 for each xray if needed.

Have you looked into Care Credit? We got it this past year. The way it works depends on your vet's office, but usually purchases over $200 can be spread out over 6 to 12 months interest free.
