Mass found in colon
 
After several bouts with mucus and blood in his stool, and rounds of anti-biotics, finally a scope was done and a mass was found in the upper part of his colon. The biopsy hasn't come back yet, so we still don't know if its benign or malignant, but, it still has to come out. We are so worried about our baby Deuce..has anyone been through this type of surgery?:(

Prayers for your little one that the mass will be benign and the surgery will be successful. Please let us know what the results are.

I don't know anything about this…I sure am praying for it to be benign and a successful surgery and quick uneventful recovery. Hugs to you and Deuce. :love:

If you don't mind me asking, how old is Deuce? Was it chronic (going on for several days or weeks) or episodic (recurring)?
I have a 5year old girl that has colitis whenever she eats beef, think it's dietary-related for her. When she has an episode, it's the same mucus & blood in poop...never thought there could be a mass in the colon (I don't think that's the case for Princess, but it's good to know).

Will be praying for Deuce, hope it comes back benign!

Deuce was 6 in October. It would start with a little mucus and by the next day there would be traces of blood. Our vet did treat him for colitis with an antibiotic (name escapes me now) but by the second day of treatment poop would be cleared up. We would finish the meds, but by 10 - 14 days later the same symtoms would appear. That when he referred us to a specialist that did the scope.

Oh wow what a great vet you have! Princess' is triggered by beef, so I avoid giving that to her, it happened the last 2 x's I gave her beef canned food. All the Best for Deuce!

Deuce's biopsy came back inconclusive. We have scheduled surgery for tomorrow so please keep him your prayers.

I am sorry that there wasn't a clear answer to the biopsy. Prayers going out for Deuce's surgery tomorrow.
