Urination Posturing after bladder stone surgery Our 8 year old male Yorkie (Boswell) had a calcium oxylate bladder stone removed 3 months ago. Everything appeared normal after the surgery, but he has developed a new behavior. When he goes out to pee he appears to empty his bladder on the first stop. He makes several other stops to pee, but he postures for 30-45 seconds and is not urinating. He just stands there as if he is peeing. Does not seem to be in pain or stressing. He has had several inside accidents since the surgery, which is unusual. Can go all night without problems. Our vet says he's fine, no infection or additional stones. Anyone else experiencing this this type of posturing? Babs |
Hi and Welcome to YT! My male does this, like he runs out of pee but still tries to leave his mark in certain areas... so I know his is not bladder stone related... at least I hope not. |
I have had them do this after the surgery for some time. Never had it happen months after. Your vet is sure there are no more stones? Done xrays and/or ultrasound? |
Hi! My Zoe (male) is going in for surgery today. How was the recovery after bladder stone surgery? He doesn't seem to be in pain but I want to prevent an obstruction. |
