Not Jumping! Yesterday, I had a friend come over to visit, I held Annie as my friend came in through the front door. Well Annie was overly excited and she jumped right out of my arms and landed on the floor. She started wimpering and wouldn't walk on one of her back legs. After a few minutes she just sat there. I tried to check her leg and massage it. After a couple of minutes she was back to her normal self and walking around like normal and walking on her to back legs trying to jump up on my friend. She would hop up onto the couch also... But at bedtime in the morning she wouldn't jump up onto the bed. She would just sit there and wait for me to carry her on. Do you think that there might be somthing wrong with her leg? I even tried to bribe her with treats on the bed. But she still wouldn't come up. She tried, but just couldn't do it. And normally this is a very easy task for her. |
Charlie jumped out of my arms a while back and did just like you described...he was fine right after he did it but a little while later was holding up one of his legs...limping and yelping a little..then he would get ok..we took him to the vet and was told just to try to keep him calm and not let him jump or play too hard for about a week. He was back to complete normal after a couple days...if you are really worried though a vet visit would put your mind at ease. Hope she feels better soon :) |
Thanks Bently&BitsysMom.... She has done this before and been fine right away.... But this not jumping on the bed just made me a little nervous, cause I wasn't sure if I was missing something cause she wasn't wimpering or anything. I'll just try to keep it easy on her for the next week and hope she gets back to her normal self on her own time... |
You're welcome :) Just keep an eye on her...she may be sore and thats why she isn't jumping on the bed....if she starts limping or acting any different though I'd take her to the vet. :) |
I agree with Bently's mom . She is probobly just being careful with it because it is a little sore and she is afraid it will hurt. Im sure she will be back to her ol' self real soon! Good Luck! :aimeeyork |
