Us too, Uni was diagnosed with Gr 2 LP. Actually first was diagnosed with Gr 3, then downgraded by another vet to 2. She has only limped once; after we went to the beach and she was running in the sand. She limped the next morning and didn't want to walk. After some meds, and the vets telling me to keep her skinny, she hasn't limped since. I did use to give her Cosequin. Her knees still would pop in and out, and it was pricey, so I stopped giving it. Still her knees pop in and out, and still she does not limp, so I do not still give it. I too wanted to do agility with her. She still jumps but I try to keep it at a minimum. If you want to do some training w your yorkie, how about nose work trials? Low impact but still great fun. |
Good News! My Enzo is on the mend! Had him at the Vet yesterday, and after a week of the anti-inflammatory meds his limp is down to a minimum. The Vet was actually quite amazed that he's shown so much improvement in just over a week. I have started him on a glucosimane chew & another week of taking it easy - which is no small feat for this little devil! Its a wait and see now :) Thanks to everyone for their suggestions & help - My Vet was tres' impressed that I was so educated about his condition |
