My 4yr old scout is acting very strange She shakes and runs around nervously looking for a place to lay down. She is still active but won't play. She's been hiding a lot and usually doesn't leave my side. Her body seems tense and she hides her head. She's been getting up in the middle of the night and going in my daughters closet. In the mornings are the worse. I called her several times this morning and she never came, that is when I found her in my daughters closet. She's extra shaky in the mornings and at bedtime. I was going to take her to the vet today but by late morning she was acting like her normal spoiled self whining for me to carry her, but now that the vet is closed she is doing it all again and she threw up. I am wondering if it could be her teeth. She has been licking her mouth a lot and breath is really bad. Please let me know if anyone has had similar experiences |
I know they will some times lick the air when their nauseous. Is she eating and pooping normally? I would get her to your vet first thing tomorrow as something is bothering her. I hate it when they are sick and you can't figure out what's going on. I hope it is something easily fixed. Keep us posted please. |
She's eating ok but she has never had great eating habits, she's very finicky and prefers table food. She is pooping normal. Thanks:) |
Has she eaten any table food that she hasn't had before or could be to rich for her system? |
Definitely time for the vet. Shaking and hiding, or even wanting to be held more than usual can be signs of pain. When my Max's behavior changed dramatically, I discovered he had an eye corneal ulcer. Signs of dental problems -- reluctance to eat, pawing at the face, and burying the face. Hope you can figure out what is wrong. |
Not that I can think of. She ate part of a tortilla a week ago that she stole off of my plate when I ran to answer the phone but this didn't start till Friday night |
Please, please take her to a vet ASAP . Those symptoms are not normal and she needs to be looked at. I am in tears from another very sad thread here where a sweet girl passed when a vet visit was delayed too long. Praying she is ok, but better to be safe than sorry. Please let us know how she is. |
If your child were hiding in a closet? vomiting? shaking? honestly, these pups are much like kids and they can't tell you what is wrong....if you think of it in those terms and love this pup please get to a vet...there is something not quite right she needs to be checked. Good luck to you and your pup. |
She is telling you that something is wrong. Please listen and have a vet check her out. |
Those are all signs that she feels poorly. I agree with everyone, time for a vet visit! |
