Has anyone heard of rotary nystagmus in Yorkies My dog cooper whom I rescued 3 years ago just turned 5 last week is in the er vet seeing a neurologist. He was fine all day yesterday he doesn't get into things pretty low key dog. He uses his steps to get up and down from the bed. When I got home last night he did not come to the door. I knew something was wrong. There was 5 piles of throw up on my bed. I pile of diarrhea. I cleaned him Up have him some water he drank it but threw up right away. Took him to the emergency vet who wasn't sure what issue was. Went to my regular vet who said its neurological referred him out to a specialist. As far as I know coop didn't get into anything no new meds or treats. I'm at the neurologist right now. They took him in the back with a tech. I'm not very pleased I can't go with him. I love my dog, after my husband and kids died in a car accident my dogs helped me get thru it. |
What a shock to come home to such a sick dog. Poor baby. No knowledge of the disease you mention but praying that Cooper can be quickly diagnosed and treated. So very sorry for the terribly tragic loss of your family members. But Coop will get through this and be your healthy loving buddy again soon. |
Sending prayers that Cooper will be okay. |
Prayer that Cooper gets better. I can relate to your concerns about havering your dog taken out of your site. My family has been going to the same vet clinic since 1950s (all five of the original vet's children are now the vets there). I grew up with many of those children who are now the vets and I still do not like it when they take Cali out of my sight . I do understand that they do not want to do procedures in a room that many dogs(some who have been very ill) have been in despite disinfecting, and prefer to treat them in a room that is specifically cleaned etc. for treatments. Openly discuss your concerns with them so they understand how you feel. There are compromises that might be able to be made. Hope thing are better now. |
sending many prayers for cooper...i hope they find out whats going on.and i understand i would want to be right by his side...i agree with the above...tell them ur upset that you cannot be with him..even if it's just for saying it out louds sake. hugs to you. |
Update They will do an MRI later today to see if they can find the cause if the stroke They are hopeful he will be ok |
Praying Cooper makes a full recovery. I am so sorry about the tragic loss of your husband and children. |
Prayers for Cooper... |
Cooper came home tonight He finally ate some and kept it down. He isn't himself, confused, falls when he walks at times, and when he lifts his legs to go potty. I honestly don't know why it makes me laugh a tiny bit but its super cute, I guess it reminds me of my last yorkie shaffer who was a bit chunky if he lifted his to far he often fell over. He would always look around wondering if anyone was watching, cooper did the same thing. I bought some baby gates and a crate , I know the crate is the best thing for him but he has says slept with me, will be an adjustment for both of us. I'm just happy he is home. He goes back to the neurologist next week for a check. |
So sorry Cooper is sick. I'm sending healing wishes and prayers for his recovery. |
