Puppy fell from 4 feet I put Leo in his xpen, because he wouldn't stop chewing on the rug. I had my back turned, and heard a rattling sound. Looked back, and saw Leo at the very top of the pen. I rushed over to grab him before he jumped, and before I reached him he fell back and landed on his side. He started yelping, got up walked a few feet and kept yelping. He stopped yelping and just stood there, then he started to wag his tail. He doesn't seem to be limping or anything, so I put him in his cage, and headed back to work. My Grandma is going to check on him when she gets there. Should I call my vet? He weighs 3-3.5lbs and fell from about 4 feet. |
Yes, have her take him to the vet in case of closed head injury, fractures or internal injury. Four feet is a long way for a small dog to fall. |
i think that may be best..and honest i would not have left him alone. jmo i hope hes ok and its nothing but i do suggest a vet visit better safe than sorry. prayers everything is fine. |
To the vet to be safe.....and now you know you have a climber! He will do this again.....you are going to have to really watch him and try to avoid situations where this happens! Praying your pup is OK and did not sustain any injuries. |
I agree with their others about a Vet check up. Perhaps you can put netting over the top on the pen to prevent more escapes. Best wishes I hope all is okay with Leo. |
