Happy to hear Olivia is cooperating with meds. Neither of you need additional stress right now, so the easier route sure is better.

Good luck Thursday. Will you have lab results right away or have to send out and wait?

Also, I meant to ask you, how do they take blood pressure on a dog? I never thought of it, and haven't seen it done. Is there a BP cuff for canines? Just curious.

Yes, they do take B/P on a pup...that is what scared the heck out of me this past week...hers was 300. :( It is not just like the b/p that they do with us...they have a pulse in their paws. They put a microphone there and tape it n place and then listen.

Not sure if we will do in house or send out. I will leave that to the vet to decide.

Interesting about the B/P. See, I am continually learning things from you. You certainly have seen it all (sadly in some cases).

Hope Miss Olivia is doing lots better.

My description was a bit off. I went to youtube to see if there are videos...and there are but there are different machines/techniques.

There is a cuff involved...you just don't use a stethoscope...it is a little device like a microphone to hear the pulse.

Olivia was seen today and yes, we have good news to share!! Her Alt is down to 204!! She does have some other elevations, but we were very happy that this came down so much in one week. Her B/P was 180/190/190 .. not terrible.

Everything was faxed to the specialist. I have not heard from him yet...and may not since he knows I will know all is ok for now. She has appt with him this coming week (the 12th) to check her blood work and also do another UPC on her. OH...and the test for Lepto.

I am so relieved right now. :)

Linda, I've been thinking of Olivia these past few days. It's so good to see this update. As I've said before, Thank goodness you know, and understand what her tests mean! I am happy to see that her results are all good news!

Wow. BIG RELIEF. Wow, I am smiling, and I haven't done THAT in a while, so you've made my day. So so happy for you and Olivia. I will continue to send light and love. Such good news!:)
