Yay for Cookie. Nice to hear some good news from your "house of dogs":D:D |
Cookie started limping on the leg that was operated on. Took her to the specialist today...xray shows a problem at the point of one of the screws. Either her body is rejecting the appliance or she has an infection. So.....the appliance must come out. Her surgeon is out of the country .. the surgeon today told me that it can wait until he returns. I don't have a date yet, but will tomorrow. His tech sent him an email to find out what date he can do the surgery. His schedule was full until Oct 8 .. I think she is trying to get her in sooner. He said the recovery won't be very long...maybe two weeks. I am just so upset for her. :( But, she did handle this well before so at least it won't be two months again. He said it was fortunate that it happened now...after everything has healed...otherwise she would have had to be hospitalized for IVs .. for a long time. ACK That would be really horrible. |
So sorry to hear about this development. Poor Cookie, she's been through enough! Good luck & keep us informed. |
Darn, just when it looked like all your pups were improving, and thought maybe you'd get a break. Ok, Cookie is back on the list for prayers and well wishes for healing. I sure hope she doesn't get any worse while waiting for the surgeon. Is she on antibiotics or do they need to confirm infection first. |
Doggone it... sorry to hear about Cookie. Prayers for her and you. |
I am very sorry to hear this. Poor Cookie! |
Poor baby! When Jez went in for TPLO, they said that 5% would have trouble with the plate/screws and need to have it removed. So sorry that Cookie is part of the unlucky 5%. |
Yeah, well Cookie lives in the house with the black cloud so it should not surprise me. :( Anyway, her surgeon will be back in town this weekend. He is going in on Monday morning just to see Cookie as he has other things to do that day. If she needs surgery and time permits he will be doing it that day. I am so relieved....the next surgery date/opening was Oct. 8th. |

Same thing with pins...I had one foster a few years ago who needed a couple removed but she was the only one. |

Seriously, though, I rarely buy them...just not something I think about unless I just happen to be in a store that sells them and even then I rarely do. Maybe I should...got just as good a chance as anyone I guess? |
Awe...Linda, I'm so sorry to see this setback. Poor Cookie, Bless her heart! :( Thank God the recovery time won't be as long this time. I guess it's time to get her stroller ready, we all know how how much she enjoyed that! Lol Seriously, keeping You and Cookie are in my thoughts and prayers. ;) |
