Ugh. I think my toby has ringworms too. Hes been constantly itching and licking around his groin area and neck. I thought at first it wss just allergies or fleas but after seeing this thread, and after googling images, i srsly think its ringworms. I feel like a bad yorkie mom. Going to bring toby to the vet tom and going to start washing and vaccuuming tomorrow. ( its tobys birthday today too. Poor boy.) | Don't take it too personally, sometime it just happens. If you want to check, get a black light flashlight (about $10 as Walmart). Ringworm shows up apple green under the light (although the vet did say you can get false negatives). We used the light to track her progress, even picking out the dried pieces that glowed, which seemed to help.
It is contagious, so be mindful of who is around toby (we had 3 people get it from her), but it is treatable. We were back at the vet yesterday and pretty much got the all clear, after about 4 weeks of meds. Just be patient, you will get through it. |
