stye in the eye? My six year old boy has a stye on the edge of his upper eye lid. Vet said its a tumor and needs surgery. Its very small, not bothering him, and hasnt grown since he's had it for about six months now. So worried about him having surgery. Vet said dental cleaning needed too, and will do both things while he's under. Does $600.00 sound reasonable for these procedures? Judy wondering! |
Poor boy. Yes, $600 sounds reasonable for both procedures. I pray it is a benign tumor, or even something more innocuous. |
Ty, I pray its not serious either. Really small, like a grain of rice. |
I think it is a good sign that the little bump has not grown. |
My GSP has had a tiny sty like growth for a couple of years now. Our vet told us that as long as it doesn't grow big and disrupt his vision that we won't need to do anything about it. |
Our Hansel has the exact same thing on his right eye. We've been keeping an eye on it for the longest time. It really doesn't worry me but the black bump on his shoulder is about 1/4" round. He's had that for a really long time but the vet says, it's nothing to worry about as long as it stays circular so we just keep watching. Oh my the things our puppies get into and have happen to them, they are walking wonders sometimes! Hope your pup's growth amounts to nothing. I'll pray for him and for you as we are natural worriers. |
Yeah, I think the price is reasonable for sure. May as well get it taken care of if putting under for dental anyway. Better safe and it be nothing than sorry later, right? Praying all goes well and it's not cancerous! |
Now I'm confused, is the eye surgery really needed? I'll skip it if its not bothering him, or causing pain or vision. I'd rather not have his eye touched if not needed. Hmmm?............what to do now? |
If it were me, I would do it. Better to get rid of it and know for sure whether its something that needs treatment than to continue to let it grow until it does become a problem. |
