Neurological Disorder? I have an 8 1/2 year old yorkie that has been having violent shaking attacks that last from a few minutes to several hours. It is not a seizure and today it was particularly bad. We may have a few days when nothing happens or it could happen several times a day. He even wakes up in the middle of the night with this problem. He is going to the vet again tomorrow, but I am thoroughly stumped. He has had bloodwork a few weeks ago and everything is fine. Anybody have a similar problem? His litter mate who is a female does not have this problem. It began about 8 months ago and has progressively gotten worse. Any information or insight would be appreciated. Vicky |
Prayers to u and your pup! |
Hopefully the vet can get to the bottom of it. It is so difficult when you can't figure out what is making them sick. Please keep us posted. |
Hi and Welcome to YT! Did they do a urinalysis? |
Are these episodes a new thing? Sudden onset or gradually getting worse? Small dogs can have something called "little white shaker syndrome"or steroid responsive tremor syndrome. Miss Scarlett suffered from this as a pup. A brief course of steroids helped and she has not had a recurrence. |
