It's best to give them a benedryl or anti-inflammatory shot b4 giving the vaccines. It's also advised to stay @ the vet's for 30 mins afterward just in case. I had 2 pups that had mild allergic reactions to their puppy shots, Turbo being 1 of them. He started scratching his face & eyes started swelling up. Good thing I was still in the parking lot & took him back in. The other was his sister & I had to rush her to the emergency vet bc it was @ night (couple of hrs after her 2nd puppy shots) & her eyes & face was so swollen, she looked like a balloon! I didn't know she was having a reaction bc she was sleeping, she was tired & very quiet after her shots. She was ok after the benedryl injection & it took a couple of hrs for her face to get normal again. It was a very scary experience that I never want to encounter again.
If Miley is not throwing up or acting lethargic, she might be ok. Just keep a close eye on her, check her eyes for any facial swelling, you'll know if it's happening. It wouldn't hurt to call the vet & let them know how she's doing...hope Miley will be ok. |
