Please be careful with bee stings! Sebastian was stung by a bee about a month ago... We were hanging by my sons pool, there was a bee in the grass and he stepped on it. I pulled the stinger out and within minutes he was very lethargic and throwing up. I rushed him to the ER. He was in shock. By the time I got to the hospital I thought he was dead. Completely limp, pooped everywhere in my car and hardly breathing. It was that quick. He's only 5 pounds. Seriously the most scared I've ever been in my life. I'm so paranoid now that he stays in his crate during the day if I need to leave the house. BE CAREFUL outside and watch for signs of shock! He's doing much better now! |
so glad sebastian is doing better and thank you for the warning. :) |
ALWAYS have Benadryl on hand and know ahead of time what dose you should give your dogs in case of a sting, bite, allergic reaction etcetera. Give it before going to the vet, as it could mean the difference btwn life or death. SO glad your kiddo is okay :). |
Thank you for sharing your story. I always have baby liquid benedry on hand in case of an emergency. The children's pills might also work, but if a pup isn't responding, the liquid can be syringed into his mouth. I'm so glad your baby is okay now. How scary! |
Wow that is very scary, so glad you rushed him to the Vet right away! I have been there 3 times with Peanut- He was stung the same way, by stepping on them in the grass. I started to noticed bees/ wasps were always diving in my grass or hovering on top- DH looked around for a pesticide to treat the grass. We found a pet friendly product at Home Depot. We have been using it since the last time he was stung, since we have been using it- never do I see bees/wasps in my grass, or even around my grass!! I would highly recommend this product if you see them in your grass! EcoSmart 10 lb. Lawn Insect Killer Granules-33114 at The Home Depot |
