My poor Daisy My poor Daisy tore a ligament. It started last night when she was not really weight bearing on her leg. Despite being hopeful it was going to pass, it didn't. We took her to the vet today and he said it was torn before he even examined her :( Daisy is my almost 13 year old dog who has a bunch of health problems. We have an appointment for a surgical consult in about a week and a half which was the soonest visit we could get since the Dr is on vacation. It scares me to have her undergo surgery. I don't think there will be a choice... I'm just sick over this. My poor girl is carrying her leg around and can't take anti inflammatory medications due to her liver disease. She has pain pills and is resting but I know she is not happy. This just sucks. |
I am going through a something similar with Winnie but its her knee cap. I havent scheduled an appointment with the surgen because my vet wants to wait a week first. It is awful to see her so sad because she cant play. I am so sorry about Daisy. Hang in there though and keep us posted! |
I'm really sorry, Cathy, that you and Daisy have to go through this. I'm sure that you will do everything to protect your little girl from harm and make sure that she has the very best medical care. I have no experience with liver issues, but I know there are risks with anesthesia. Even so, my little angel at the Rainbow Bridge successfully had surgery at the age of sixteen, even though she had an enlarged heart. I know you are worried sick, and it's such a long wait for you. I hope Daisy can rest easily without pain while you are waiting to treat her. |
Poor Daisy and poor mom...I am so sorry, Cathy. I know she will be fine, but it is stressful nonetheless. She is in my prayers...as are you. |
Cathy, I am so sad for Daisy and you. Keeping both of you in my prayers. |
I'm praying for Daisy to be back on her feet as quickly as possible. Hang in there mom. I bet she will do great. HUGS :) |
Oh no! Poor Daisy :( Hopefully after a few doses of her pain pills, she builds up enough in her system for the pain to not bother her too much. Did the vet advise cold packs to reduce inflammation or heat to lessen pain? It's so hard when our babies get hurt/sick. Hoping she has a restful night. |
That does suck! I'm so sorry to read this and know what a trial she is facing. This is tough, tough news. I will be praying that hopefully there is a miracle for Daisy somewhere. |
Cathy, I'm so sorry you're having to face this :(. You will both be in my thoughts. Please keep us posted on this precious one. |
sending many prayers for you both. |
Cathy You and Daisy are both in my prayers. |
I'm so sorry that little Daisy is going through this. My Gina severed her ACL and HAD to have surgery. The dr said that there was a good chance that she would injure her other leg before a year was out, which she did. This time it was a torn ligament. I did not want her to go through surgery again so we kept her contained for about a month and she never did have to have a repair done. Under the circumstances of Daisy's health I would not have surgery. If the dr insists then get a second or third opinion. |
Aw Cathy I’m sorry.. Poor Daisy. I will be sending good thoughts and prayers to sweet Daisy. Hopefully everything works out for that sweet girl. ((hugs)) |
