Yorkie Skunk Sprayed How can I get her clean? Sorry I wasn't sure if this was an emergency or not but My 3 year old Mitsi is locked in Our bathroom as I type. She went out to potty and I noticed a little to late that there was a skunk lurking outside our fence. I begged and called Her to come back to Me but as usual She did what She wanted and got sprayed. She smells HORRID and Im not sure how to get the stink off of Her and not cause Her any harm. I washed Her in a dish soap to get the slimy spray stuff off her but She still reeks! any help would be GREAT! |
oh boy my dog Daisy got this. try this siteSkunk Odor Removal - How to Get Rid of Skunk Smell I eventually just took her to the groomers bc nothing worked:( The groomers had stuff that helped but her breath smelled like skunk for months. Sending clean thoughts...poor little thing she must be scared. |
She's terrified, I have to keep Her in Our bathroom until someone gets here with some tomato juice. Ive never had to smell this stuff up close and Ive gotta say its one of the worst smells ever! Thanks for the website I will give it a try. |
Poor girl, I hope the tomato sauce helps! |
Well, After I round of dish soap, 1 entire gallon of tomato juice, 1 huge glass of apple cider vinegar and some fur so fresh shampoo and half a bottle of conditioner, She seems to smell and feel better. Although She is extremely mad at Me |
Mix 1quart hydrogen peroxide, 1 box baking soda and 2 tablespoons of blue Dawn dish soap. Sponge or spray on and leave on for 20 minutes. Then rinse and shampoo with usual brand. |

Ugh, my Aunt's westie loves to mess with skunks. She's gotten sprayed twice, the first time wasn't so bad but the second time was horrible. She got sprayed over a month ago and you can still smell it if you get close. I'm not sure what they've tried, other than tomato juice and lots of soap. |
