Bentley Please send good thoughts for my Bentley...he just now came back from the vet as he was panting relentless...We have had storms here but he never has reacted like this to them. The vet gave him tranquilizer shot and have to call in the morning. Heading off to bed with him and hope he will settle for the night. |
I hope you both find comfort tonight and that Bentley feels much better very soon. My prayer are with you both. |
Good thoughts for Bentley. May he have comfort tonight and every day forward |
I feel so bad for you and Bentley. My Pixie has severe anxiety from storms and loud noises. She was fine until a couple of years ago. It is so hard to see them so scared. I will keep positive thoughts. |
Thank you all for your well wishes for my boy. He had a restless night, threw up and then settled to sleep. He ate half his food this morning. He started this "digging" in his bed which was concerning me but now he has stopped. Called the vet this morning and let him know how he is doing and he said to give a teaspoon of Peptol Bismol then and one more this evening. I am happy that he is comfortable and sleeping. Storms had never caused this reaction for him. He has had an inflammatory bowel syndrome this past month and is on ZD Science Diet and probiotics. Just finished prednisone. He had such bad diarrhea and now that is all back to normal stools. So, it's been quite a month + of him not feeling good but that seems to be cleared up! Praying he will be all right today and all is well. Thank you again for your prayers! |
Dyan, I am sorry that I am just seeing your thread now. Poor Bentley has had a rough month. I am very happy to hear he is doing better today, and that he recovered from his IBD episode. Praying that he can rest comfortably tonight. Sending him gentle hugs. |
I had three little angels who are together at the Rainbow Bridge now. Ashley lived to a month shy of seventeen, and she had irritable bowel when she got older. All three were terribly afraid of thunderstorms, and that fear generalized to when it rained. My vet prescribed Valium that they took for a while. My little one Gracie took Aceprozamine, which made her totally fearless, but it was like putting her on Speed. I stopped giving them Valium because I think they may have been more afraid because it made them feel different. I've heard great things about the Thundershirt. If it doesn't help, it is able to be returned. I hope things settle down with Bentley. It's so sad when they are afraid or sick. |
I am so sorry, hope he had a night of rest!! I had a dog that was like that, I had to put him in my shirt to calm him. |
I can't tell you all how much I appreciate your advice and your own experiences. So far, thank goodness he is doing so much better and just ate his whole dinner. I wish I could know if the storms caused this...someone set off a firecracker and he flinched. Thankfully, it didn't cause him to revert. Thank you all so very much for your caring...this is what I feel is the best of YT!! |
hope he feels better// have you thought of trying a thunder shirt ? |
Glad to hear he is doing better. :) |
