Not eating Last night Dolly threw up white foam she had not eaten all day so I gave her some pure pumpkin and a little bit of the white of a boiled egg. Now this morning I put a little cottage cheese on top of her food ate the cc but would not touch the food. Should I put her on a bland diet? |
I think a bland diet is a good idea. I would also takes her to a vet if this persists for 24 + hours or if she stops drinking water, sooner than that. It could be just a stomach bug which needs to run its course, but since our babies can't talk to us, I would always prefer to err on the side of caution. |
Hi Mary Lou, Sorry to hear Dolly isn't feeling well. Macy had to go to the vet Thursday because she was throwing up and had diarrhea. He told me to feed her boiled chicken and white rice for a few days. Make sure Dolly is drinking water and check her gums to make sure they are pink and not turning grey. If she throws up more I would take her to the vet. Macy had stressed-induced gastro intestinal problems. I had to board her for a few days last week and she didn't like being boarded at all. Hope Dolly feels better soon. |
i would take her to the vet if she does not start eating |
I agree with the advice given by everyone above. Sending best wishes to Dolly to feel better. |
My Buttons will spit up white foam and not eat good when she has had tummy bugs and also from drainage with allergies. She also does that, and is presently doing his, because she got vaccinations Saturday. She started feeling bad yesterday. The last time Buttons had a stomach bug, she didn't eat and on the second day took her in and they gave her some fluids because she was a little dehydrated. It took her about a week to get back to her normal self. Hope your baby feels better soon. |
Dolly is fine now guess it must have been some can of a bug going to get a summer hair cut tomorrow. Thanks for all your replies |

glad she is feeling better. I think that "bug" has run its course in my house... for the past week it seams a different dog is "not feeling well" every few days. It last about 24 hours.. when I start to panic and get ready to go to my second home that I have been signing my paychecks over to... otherwise knows as the VET.. they start eatting and normal potty. They like to keep me on my toes I guess. lol |
