What good news about Sammy. I had my second eye surgery done on Thursday and I can speak for the two of us - sight is a beautiful thing. Glad I did't have to wear a cone. |
update on Sammy.... Sam just came back from the eye vet, and he has been discharged... we don't have to go back for three months. He is doing great and his eyes are clear and he has very good vision. We still have to put drops (two kinds) in his eyes three times a day for the next three months and no bath yet, not for four weeks. Dr. G said NO BATH even tho I begged.... :) He said we don't want to ruin anything and we have come so far with his recovery. We paid 3500 for both eyes and another 500 in meds and other expenses but it has been worth every cent. |
Sammy What great news, WTG Sammy and momma!! You must be so happy knowing Sammy can see and all is well. The drops are a bit of a pain, but needs be for a complete and safe recovery. It is a shame he cannot have a bath, he must be getting a bit uncomfortable now. Have you tried those moistened towel wipes? I found they did a good job in cleaning off the dust etc when my dog could not be bathed. They are in a pack from Petsmart I believe. Sammy must enjoy the excellent sight now with no more CONE! Your cost was very reasonable, I paid more than that for one eye. But as you say it is so worth it. Thanks for the updates, I am so glad all worked out perfectly and you now have a happy sighted dog. Yeh! |
I am glad to hear that he is doing well. I hope he makes a full recovery. |
