Sick puppy So this morning Max seemed his normal self. He did eat a little food. When I brought him out around 9:30 or so he acted normal ran around did his business and then immediatly afterwards plopped down at my feet. He vomited twice. I thought to check his gums and they were very grey. I forced some of the vitamin syrup stuff the vet gave me and finally his gums have returned to normal. He however is still quite 'down' and not his normal self. I think he may have eaten somthing in the yard that made him sick? it happened so all of a sudden I don't know what else to think? any ideas or advice is appreciated. I'm going to give him a little longer and see if he comes around and if not I'm calling the vet. Thanks in advance |
Going to the vet is a good idea... the sooner the better though if you suspect he ate something bad, so the vet has a better chance to do something before it gets in his system. Praying for your little one. |
Hi there , The same thing happened to my baby Sharkie a few weeks back. I let him just relax gave him some cottage cheese and a little bit of plain yogurt and the next day ( i had a really close eye on him all night long) he was like it never happened . never found out what he go into . Please keep an eye on your baby and keep the vet number on speed dial jus tin case you need it .. Good Luck |
Grey gums, sticky to the touch, are an emergency situation. These little ones can go down fast. I would get in touch with your vet's office to avoid a possibly expensive trip to the ER after hours. I would also assess what is in the yard. Do you have poisonous plants? We have to watch for mushrooms too. Hoping your little guy is okay. |
If you have mulch, you might want to watch when he's outside and make sure he's not eating it. Maggie has been sick for almost four days and I think it's from eating the mulch. I would get him to the vet just to make sure. Hers started with vomiting then got worse from there. Please consider a trip to the vet. |
I hope Max is feeling better! |
