Pup's eye seem more reflective than the other 2 Attachment(s) Dracos right eye seems to reflect more light than the left. The left seems to be normal, only be reflective with like the flash of my camera or light in low light areas. While the right I can see the part of his eye that reflects light pretty easily. He doesn't seem bothered, no redness of the whites of his eyes, if i hold his head a bit both eyes will look around, no discharge.. He's 13wks, and we have an appt with the vet later this week to continue vaccination series. Hasn't been in contact with any animals since I got him, nor outdoors. And still act very normal and hyper. Get this picture of his eye was a real task. In the second picture the one that reflects yellow is the one that I'm worried about. In the close up it was taken in a room lit by daylight, no light directed into his eyes, and could not see into his left eye as easily. Just want to know if I should try to visit the vet sooner, or if he'll be fine until Thursday. |
Could just be the angle you are looking at him, and taking pictures, and the way the light sources are hitting his eyes. If the white of the eye is not red, and he isn't holding it closed or winking excessively, no discharge, I think you are safe waiting until his next scheduled appointment to see the vet and have the eyes examined. |
That's what I thought, but noticed it was only one eye and it happend in more often than not with any amount of light, where it'd be vey difficult to get the other eye to do this. =/ Thanks and hopefully it's nothing serious. I'm just a worry wart. |
Eye light The difference does not seem that marked to me, but it is easier to detect looking directly in the eyes. Dogs eyes do look different according to the light source and direction. My dog had cataract surgery and I am frequently concerned by how the eyes reflect light, but the eye doc says they are fine. I would guess it is nothing to worry about and if the eyes look good otherwise I would think it is ok to wait for the vet appt for a check up. Please update after the exam, and don't worry!! All will be well. |
I don't know whether it's the photo but the one eye looks a little cloudy. My dog also had cataract surgery a few weeks ago and he also had sort of a cloudy look. Oliver was also acting normal so we never thought about it for almost 6 months. If you're uncertain I would check him out with your vet. Keep us posted. |
The vet says it's most likely due to more pigment in one eye than the other, and I have nothing to worry about. However last night my brave little toaster jumped out of my sisters hands when i came to get him and hurt his paw. Took him in early this morning and he has a fracture in his wrist and his little toes are broken. ='( But the vet said he should heal up nicely but hast wear this stint for the next month. =[ |
Eye What good news about the eye. That is a relief I am sure. Poor little baby having a broken wrist, there is always something!!!! Hope he gets well soon and keeps out of the vet's for a while! |
