Eye Problem? OK, so here's what I'm looking at. In the past 30 minutes or so, Trixie has started acting like there is something wrong w/ her eye(s), one more so that the other. She has them squinted, again, one more than the other. I don't see anything in either of them. We haven't used any cleaner or spray or anything like that today and to the best of my knowledge, she hasn't been conked in the head or anything like that. She isn't acting like they are hurting or anything, no pawing at them or rubbing her head against the couch, and she is still running around like nothing is wrong. I flushed them...both to be safe and get out anything that may be in there. Anybody got any suggestions? I am going to take my daughter to my mother's house--she is staying there tonight, but I should be back on shortly. Hopefully when I get back, they will be back to normal. If not, I will call my vet, who I think is out of town. I can take her to another vet in the morning, or to the emergency vet tonight if it worsens. Please let me know any input anyone may have and I will check back shortly. Thanks! |
Alright so, 5 minutes after I squirt the water in her eyes, she seems fine. No squinting, nothing. I guess I answered my own question. Sorry about the false alarm. :) |
Glad that she's okay. Could have been a dust particle??? |

Im so glad she seems better now. and im glad you cleaned her eyes out. I was gonna post this and I guess I still will. My daughters cat was doing the same thing, im not sure if it could be the same thing but wanted to share. Her cat was squinting her eyes and after a few days she ended up getting a bad infection in them, The problem was is when anyone goes into the bathroom she would follow them and lay in the bathroom and I guess from everyone useing hair spray it got in her eyes and caused a real bad infection, they gave her some cream to put in them and they healed up just fine. Now shes not allowed in the bathroom while anyones doing their hair. |
Not really sure what was going on, she only seems to do it when you are not paying attention to her. When you start talking to her or something, she opens them really wide. I think I will probably get my husband to take her to the vet today just in case. I would hate for it to get worse over the holiday weekend when we can't get her in. Better to be safe than sorry. |
