I'm sorry you and Peek a Boo are facing this. I'm sending good thoughts and prayers to you both. I lost my Sammy to this. He ate the dry k/d for breakfast and the canned k/d for dinner and liked it. We also put the dry k/d in his cookie jar and he had that for a treat. We told him they were cookies. You could also try (but ask your vet first) what our vet told us to give him 1/4 Pepcid once a day, Maalox (I forgot the dosage) to act as a phosphorus binder, doggie vitamins, and I think it was omega 3 fish oil, I wish I could remember better, sorry. He was allowed to have a little bit of cheerios (plain) for a treat, vanilla wafer cookie too. I wish you and Peek a Boo all the very best. Sending hugs too! |
Sending love and good thoughts to the both of you. |

Kathy, I am so very sorry to hear about Peek A Boo. I promise to keep you both in prayer. If it must be, I'm glad that you learned of the diagnosis early, so that you can prevent further decline. I'm glad he likes the K/D. That's so encouraging. We're here for you. |
Kathy I am so sorry you and Peek are facing this. Know that prayers are being sent that this can be managed so that you have more time with your precious baby. ((huggzz)) |

My Presley, who will be 17 in August, has been diagnosed with early renal failure. We feed him the Purina NF and give him Azoydl (sp), which has helped his levels so far. He was diagnosed about 6 months ago. We take him twice a week for sub-q fluids (no way can we administer them). So far so good. He said he can live a while in this condition, but of course, mostly his age is going to play a factor. He also is showing signs of dementia as well. My vet, say's he still has good quality of life, so we are hanging in there. Prayers for your baby! I know how scary it is. |
