Incontinent females? Does anyone have an incontinent female? My Daisy is age 13 and was a puppy mill mommy until age 8. She doesnt like to go outside so we have never been very successful with potty training. I have noticed her urinating more frequently over the last 6 months. It seems much worse lately. We have done two urinalysis and one blood test everything is 100%. She doesnt strain or leak she does little short pees frequently. We have a ultrasound scheduled for monday to check for stones or masses but Im just curious about people that have incontinent dogs if its a leaking or an actual pee. I guess im just worried and trying to find more info. I so want to believe its incontinence not something worse...I thought that maybe from being a mommy for 8 years things are looser. The greedy mill breeder said she never missed getting pregnant on even one heat cycle til age 7 :( |
I have had several older rescues that did develope incontinence & it was leaking in their beds while they slept. I have always used Phenelpropanalemine sp? & it works very fast & no more leakage. |
Thank you for your relpy I had heard incontinece is more like leakage which she doesnt do :( |
It can start out as weakness though. I will be Praying it's nothing serious. |

Im dreading this appt monday and so afraid of the rescults. From what I have read online it doesnt sound as much like incontinece :( I had many dogs with stones and I doubt thats what is going on. Also advanced stones I believe show in bloodwork and urine...Im so freaked out!!! |
Well we have done her ultrasound, blood test, urine and many physical exam...nothing seems wrong. She doesnt leak so they dont feel she is incontinent. Im relieved nothing really scary had shown up in the ultrasound. I had prepared for the worse news. So at this point they fell she is ok. I guess she just cant hold it for very long anymore. |
Happy to hear all is well. Yes sometimes as they age, they just like human gals can't hold it as long. |
