Dex has been coughing for WEEKS now :( Hello everyone, We have this coughing problem, where he has this dry hacking cough. Otherwise he is perfectly fine! Appetite is fine, still a happy bubbly puppy he is (4.5 months old). The symptoms look like kennel cough, we have been to the vet twice, first time they gave us some parasites meds cause they found smt in his poop and thought it was the cause. Then we got medicine from kennel cough, but that didn't help either. Have another appointment next Saturday. We have started giving him some Robitussin, got humidifier and vicks vaporizer and it seemed to help. This has been going on for at least 7 weeks now! :( Anyone has that happen before? |

Good Luck! |
keylo came to me with kennel cough, which they first diagnoised as CT...she does have CT and it took three or four doses of the antibiotic to finally clear the kennel cough up. i hope you find a vet that can help with diagnosing what the issue is. |

I was thinking it could be CT (collapse trachea), but if it IS kennel cough, it takes a longggg time for the meds to help. I remembered Keylo was on the meds for weeks and weeks, right? |
yes it was either three or four doses....and they mistook the ct and didnt diagnose the kennel cough so all three of my kidz got it. cedric has the strongest immune system as he only needed one bottle and was cleared up. lola scared the hell outta me with it cause her cough was really deep but thankfully it didnt go into anything else so actually both her and keylo had 3 to 4 bottles i forget now exactly which number it was. |
What's smt? When Momo had KC when he was a puppy, it lasted 3 months! He was on several different antibiotics & what finally worked was upping his dose to 5ml from 1ml. I had a heart specialist confirm that this was ok to do even tho I felt uneasy giving him so much. Please work closely w/your vet & make sure his lungs are clear, otherwise they can get pneumonia. Has he been on anitibiotics yet? |
