That poor little baby. She has a food allergy and has been overly medicated and is now suffering from chemical imbalance and now traumatized to make things worse. I'd be surprised if she can pull through, and now to add to her mounting problems, they want to give her more dog food. I just can't believe this. I would love to hear she is getting better. |
Was just hoping to get an update on Jenna. I hope and pray all is better with you guys. |
Jenna will be at the hospital one more day. She ate yesterday and pooped last night, (which probably upset her as she did it in her cage and she hates not being able to go out to potty), but she still has the rash. My vet called in an internist and they determined she has canine vasculitis. She needs a special med compounded for her to treat it, plus she has to be weaned off all other medications before beginning it. So they'll clear her out today before she starts the new drug tomorrow. My vet has to go out of town though so another doc will take her case, he's going over it with him today. I am crushed. She will have to eat canned hypoallergenic food the rest of her life and be very careful of all medications she takes from now on because something she's ingested has caused all this. I appreciate all the prayers and good wishes...could I prevail upon every one for a few more for her please? Thank you. |
Absolutely, more prayers and more good thoughts coming your way. I am just glad they have the answers now. Poor baby, I am sure it will help her alot just to get to come home and be with her family and her own environment. |
I made another post regarding the medication they want to use. It has me very scared for her because she's been unable to eat properly for two weeks already, and this could make her vomit or not eat again...plus it seems to be a drug related to theobromine which I thought was poisonous for dogs? She is so sensitive to everything...is it more of a risk to give her the pentoxifylline or can she not recover without it? |
