Fleas. My old Buddy had trouble with Fleas all his life. Even in Alaska he had fleas. We tried the medicated stuff you squeeze out on his back, and Flea baths's and some other stuff and nothing worked. Now we have a little Mongrel and she's got the same problem. Does anybody have any help for us here? |
check out flea busters for your house, it is the best thing, stays in your carpet for a year and it works great, you can order it from amazon and I use the comfortis when I travel during the summer |
The comfortis works very well. |
I use FrontLine Plus year round on all my pets and I have never had a problem with fleas. |
Sometimes fleas can be really hard to get rid of once they take up residence and start a cyclical infestation It sounds like they maybe living in your house ... and everytime you innoculate your pets the second wave is ready as soon as the medicine wears off Your approach needs to be two pronged Get rid of the doggy bedding that you have Dust bomb your carpets and draperies and wash all your bedding in hot water keep spraying and powdering for a few weeks .... because the eggs are almost immune to the insecticides during this time innoculate your dogs again You'll most likely have to change the medicine that you've been using because sometimes these bugs become immune to what you've been using |
In order to treat flea infestations successfully, you need the pet AND the environment 1. first wash everything (bed, mats, toys, & vacuum any area he/she uses). 2. While things are getting washed, treat your dog with a topical or oral fle medication (advantage, frontline, comfort is, etc). 3. At night, treat the outside environment with some insecticide meant or fleas. I know some people don't like the idea of using "chemicals" on dogs, but realistically, if you have serious issues with fleas, only concentrate "medicines" will help. PS- I've problems myself, & despite following all of those steps I've learned through research, the problem continues because I can't control infected cats from leaving fleas on my property. I'm considering either Lawnsuit my neighbor to make him keep his cats in his property or enclosure my porch area at least. If you treat & control all those areas, you will be flea-free Hope I helped a little :) |
You need to treat the area and any pet in your home. Even if you have an inside only cat-treat it! |
I would consult your vet as gas as meds. They will know what is safe for your pet with its current health situation including weight and area. |
