Puppy ate a piece of rubber a few minutes ago... My girl just ate a small rubber maggot (I know that sounds ridiculous). I had no idea it was there until I saw her come up with it and of course as soon as I tried to get it from her she took off running. By the time I caught her she swallowed it. Is she going to be ok? I don't want it to cause a blockage. :( It was one of these things: GLOW IN THE DARK MAGGOTS - Amazon.com I would appreciate any help. I'm very worried about her. This is the first time she's managed to eat something she shouldn't. |
I have not idea. I tried to do some research but the closest I could come up with was those glow in the dark tube necklaces. I would think it is not the same since the necklaces are filled with actual liquid. Your "maggots" are rubber. I was say call you vet as soon as you can. I would think since these are kids creepy crawlies, hopefully they are not toxic. Keep us posted |
I'd get her to the ER Vet and see if they can scope her and get it from her tummy or advise you what to do in the interim, if they don't want to go in after it with the scope. Go to the ER vet to be safe. |
I agree that you should go to the vet for a potential scope. The of the possibility of the bowel obstruction is extremely costly -- financially for you and physically painful for your pet. My dogs obstruction didn't present itself until 4.5 months later! Better safe than sorry. |
I'd be concerned of the possible obstruction and whatever causes it to glow in the dark being toxic (I don't know). Better safe than sorry..go to the vet. I realize this was last night..how is your little one? Did you go to the er vet? |
i would call a emergency vet and ask them |
Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm happy to say she was able to pass it on her own. She's fine now. :) |
