Sick Punkin i have a very sick little baby, he has seen two vets. 1st one wasnt sure and the second one says IBS we have given him meds and nothing is helping he is still pooping blood wih a mix of something looking like beads. Next step would be A&M in Dallas . I am afraid maybe he is really worse and then Ive spent the money and still Punkin would not be better. Has anyone experienced this with their baby and if so, what did u do:( |
I'm so sorry that your baby is sick :( I don't have much experience with this, but hopefully there will be another member that will have some advice for you right now. Sending positive thoughts your way and praying for your little baby. |
I'd get this baby right back to the vet, or a vet ER. Did they do any tests... like for HGE or is it possible he got into any toxins? This pup needs supportive care ASAP ... |
I would be on my way to A&M (College Station) Small Animal Hospital. These babies can go down rapidly and you cant get them back.....and you need to have a diagnosis before you can treat him. Good luck with your baby. |
I have taken him back to the vet and still the same, we r sending sample to dallas, But is pooping watery blood. Is it ok to feed him some meat baby food |
Thank you so much for taking to time to reply |
Hi I have a baby with IBS too. First, getting to a vet is a top priority. Did you vet give an antibiotic?? Second, IBS can be controlled with diet. Any changes sets my girl off. I use two things for diet, Science Diet I/D and I also home cook. No treats unless they are home made. Please feel free to pm me. I will be glad to answer questions if I can. For now, let your baby's tummy rest then use a bland meal such as boiled chicken and rice. I would ask vet about the I/D. It has worked wonders for my Rosie in the past. |
what about the chicken broth off the chickens it not to rich and do u use white rice or brown |

OP, if money is an issue (sounded like it in your first post), you might want to look into Care Credit. Texas A&M will not accept it but there are specialists in Dallas who will....if you go to Healthcare and Medical Financing for Consumers | CareCredit you can search your area for vets who accept it. As for A&M..their small animal clinic is not in Dallas....It is in College Station. They are wonderful but you need money up front if you go there. They usually take 1/2 of what the estimate is if a pup is hospitalized...then the rest they will make a payment plan over 6 months. As everyone has said, your pup sounds VERY ill and needs care ASAP!! |
