Thank you all for the info and reminder. We have these trees up and down our street and the orange berries all over the sidewalks (the first picture of round dull orange seeds looks like what we have) Ziva will not pick up anything (learned the hard way with a toad)but Abby needs more lessons. |

Thank you all Thank you all for your sweet condolences. It means alot. If I could ever get through a day without crying, I might be alright, but right now it's the only thing that makes me feel better. My Roxie was the happiest, sweetest little girl that I have ever seen and I raised her from six weeks so the heartbreak is almost unbearable. I loved her so. I would have sold my soul to have her live, but it was just not meant to be. She only lived to a little over three years. Her time on earth was short, but she had a really good life with us and was pretty spoiled. My time with her was priceless and the unconditional love she gave me was overwhelming. If I was ever upset, she would be the first to come over and cover my face with kisses so I keep telling myself she would not want me to cry like this. I have created a Facebook Page called "Dangers of Sago Palm" if any of you would like to visit it. I have posted all sorts of articles and such from the internet. I would appreciate you liking it, I need 8 more likes to have some kind of something about the activity. Not sure about all that, but I only need 8 more. There is a picture of my beautiful Roxanne on there in her pink hairbow and blue gingham dress. She was a beauty. The only thing I can do for my little baby now is try and warn others so they will not have to go through anything like this, for it is truly horrible. Again, thank you for all your sweet comments. :aimeeyork |

Thank you Wylie's Mom and LadyJane Thank you Lady Jane for posting the seed pics and to you, too, Wylie's Mom for posting the excellent article and pics. We can never have too much education about this HORRIFIC plant. I e-mailed the Department of Agriculte's poison plant department and received a reply that mainly said there had been talk of putting warning labels on poison plants, but the horticulture industry had strong lobbyists and so far they have been successful in seeing that it was not done. Anything for the almighty dollar!!!!! But, that is okay, if we can get the word out enough about this thing, maybe the sale of it will go down and no one will want one. |

I have a beautiful one in my front yard. If I wasn't renting it would be gone. Another reason reason not to let the dogs out by themselves. Thanks for posting the pictures, I may be in so cal but grew up in mi. What do I know. |

I am so sorry to hear of the tragic loss of your sweet Roxie. I had no idea that the Sego Palm was toxic. We have them out front of my apartment building and all over the neighborhood. How scary I didn't know. My deepest condolences. I will let everyone I know about the dangers. |

I am so very sorry and I know you are truly heartbroken. They are such a big part of our lives. Thank you for your courageous post. |

Thank you and please get the word out Thank you all for your sweet postings. PLEASE, PLEASE get the word out about this EVIL PLANT! It is SO very dangerous. I would have sold my soul for my little girl to not have gone through this, but sadly, it isn't a nightmare I am going to wake up from. I can only try to get the word out so that maybe some little pet might be spared this awful fate. |
