Teddy Bear was seen by the specialist today. The report on his stones did come back and, as expected, they were urates.

He will have BATs done on his next visit. I fully expect good results. He is doing fantastic! :)

You know, I never had any clue at all that something was wrong with him. Now, I see a difference....he seems brighter and more playful...not that he was not like that before but I do see a subtle difference.

The specialist today was remarking how it is easy to find these in people by asking questions...they are usually disoriented....cannot do that in dogs. These pups often are diagnosed once they develop stones; and it is not uncommon to find them in older dogs who previously showed no symptoms. Not saying that they are common ... just saying it is not unusual for this to happen.

Oh my! It is so hard! I wish they could say, hey mommy I don't feel good. :(:(

Oh, I know....I feel terrible that he must have felt badly on many days of his life. I had NO idea. He did have occasional episodes of vomiting...but they really were nothing remarkable. Now, seeing him looking better, I feel just awful thinking that he must have felt sick. :(

Linda you are the best Yorkie momma! Don't feel bad! You have him on the road to recovery now!

Oh, I don't have any regrets...I never short cut when it comes to vetting. There was never any suspicion of anything being wrong. So...while I feel terrible that I did not know, I don't blame myself for it.

I am so glad that Teddy Bear is doing so good. Praying that his BATs test next week proves very good. Prayers continue.

Sending prayer's and best wishes for Teddy's continued improvement. Linda I know you keep a close eye on all the babies. Many times it's up to owner radar, the "clues" can be so subtle since animals' instinctively hide discomfort.

Indeed they do. In his case, I was really caught off guard. I normally know immediately when something is wrong with one of my pups. I cannot believe he was sick for so long...he had to feel awful on some days. :(

Teddy Bear Update!
 
Teddy Bear had his BATs done this week and they are super great! He is off the Lactulose and will be transitioning to a regular diet. I have a consult in with the vet nutritionist for her feedback on what to feed him.

He will be tested again at 6 months and then 1 year.

I am beyond thrilled! :)

Indeed. I was definitely needing it. Had two pups up there again this week...just insane. Thankfully those two are now home and doing ok. My little foster, Gizmo, had pancreatitis and was hospitalized for a few days. George was a mess but was thankfully treated as an outpatient. Getting old this stuff.

He looks the absolute picture of heath. He's gorgeous. Both of them are. Hard to believe he was so ill.

That little Teddy Bear looks so sweet and lovable! I am so thankful he is well. Rookie is cute too. Yorkies are the neatest dogs, just personality plus and fighters when sick. You have two adorable dogs!
