max had surgery for SALIVARY MUCOCELE Max just had surgery for SALIVARY MUCOCELE (I had to copy paste that) He is doing well. I know he wants to eat a tiny bit but they said wait til 8 tonight. Poor guy. I was not at all prepared for the suture site....he is a little frankenstien neck right now...sigh. I am so glad everything went well. They cleaned his teeth too. That way I don't have to sedate him again. Once was enough. I was nervous at work all day. All the other Yorkie owners kept giving me words of encouragement. |
I am glad he is doing well. Max wanting to eat is wonderful. Good thoughts and blessing to you both |
So glad Max is doing well after his surgery. Almost time for him to eat! |
I am so glad that Max's surgery went well. I am glad that he is home and doing well. Prayers for a quick recovery. |
I had to look that one up. :) I'm so happy to hear Max did well and has sparkly white teeth as well. I hope he's able to eat a little by now and he has a good recovery. |
Working in a dental office for 15 years, I actually knew what that one was! Poor little man!! Get well soon!!! |
Bless his heart. Praying for a quick and painless recovery for Max! |
Poor Max...get better soon! |
Max is resting He is doing well. Takes him a bit longer to get comfy when he lays down...avaiding the stitches I guess. H was so happy to eat this morning...Is drinking and going to the bathroom just fine. I am so glad. It was so hard letting him go to the Vet yesterday. You can tell he is still tired. Thanks for the well wishes. I will post a picture later today |

Before Surgery You wouldn't happen to have any pictures of what his mucocele looked like before the surgery do you? My Bentley was stung by several bees a few years ago and when this happened they also ruptured his salivary glad. It would occassionally swell up on the right side of his neck and we would just have it drained and it would go away until the next year. This last time it came back and it was drained twice and we were sent to a specialist to talk about the surgery. It was not expressed that it needed to happen that second so we opted to put in a drain to try and allow the glad to close and repair itself. It seemed to have worked for the most part until recently. Now the mucocele has traveled to the front of the neck and has caused quite a bit of swelling. I had him in the vet a few weeks ago and the vet did not seem concerned. I am freaked out at this point and I have another appointment for them to try and drain it. I am more than willing to do the surgery if needed but I am not sure when to say "when". I am so concerned with him being able to eat, swallow and breathe and I check it out constantly. I feel like I am loosing sleep over this and not knowing when it "gets bad". Any advice would be so helpful....poor guy is only 5! |
