I don't have experience with this so I don't have any advice for you, but I did want you to know that I'm praying for Benji. |
I hope others are able to help answer your questions. Sending prayers and best wishes. |
thank you xx |
We went through this with Lolita but unfortunately they didn't find it till it was to late to save her with meds :(. She got to where she regulated her activities herself. I think somehow they just know and the meds seemed to relax her also. Sending prayers your way. |
Good thoughts and blessings. I hope some of the others can answers the questions you have |
I very recently lost my 1yr old to heart problems, I'm sure your Benji's is different. If I had any advice to give I would give this: Regardless of cost, get your pup to a cardiologist, cardiogram (?) get all the tests so you KNOW exactly what your dealing with. Your pup is 10 years old and this is sudden onset? Please go to cardiologist and have him completely worked up and go with their best advice.... I personally would not want to destroy my pups quality of life...I have peace of mind and heart knowing my baby was playing and living her life just before she passed. I wish you much luck and prayers for Benji. |
I answered this post once before....I do not see my response here now...dont know what happened to it....but with medication and cardiologist f/u, your baby should be OK....especiallyif they got it early....I had a girl last another 8 years with congestive heart failure.... |
Prayers for your sweet boy. |
I can totally relate to what you are going through. My oldest Hugo died from heart failure around Thanksgiving. he was 11 years old. He had been diagnosed with a heart murmur for about 2 1/2 years. He took lasix twice a day, Encard and Vetmedan. He got alot better after we started giving him the meds. The vet told me he would either die from the heart giving out or kidney failure from the lasix. I kept him as calm as I could. I never ever took him for a walk again after he was diagnosed. My vet wanted me to take him to a Vet cardiologist, but it was a 2 hour drive for me and I was NOT gonna put him through the stress of the drive. Besides, there was nothing they could do to fix his little heart. I just wanted to make what little time he had left to be peaceful and at home with his family. Luckily he died in his sleep one night and did not suffer. I was absolutely devastated when he passed. You are in my thoughts:animal36 |
Sending lots of love Benji's way. |
I've known a few dogs with CHF that have done fairly well. Don't give up! Maybe you can use those doggie calming pheramones? I forget what they are called but I'm sure someone will know. There are also some treats with chamomile in them so if he is getting super playful maybe he can have a calming treat? Sorry you have to go through this, positive thoughts your way :animal-pa |
Sending positive thoughts and prayers for sweet Benji. |
