Ruby Sioux is under the weather So both R n R got into garbage last night that their sensitive tummies couldn't handle. Yep both have had the throw ups and diarrhea since 330 last night. They seemed to perk up so I made them some rice and chicken broth. Rosie the hog is all better...everything is coming out good. Ruby howeverwas feeling much better and then when they went all hung ho on the rice and chicken she got sick again and is just resting looking so sad. I think I made the mistake of letting her eat all the rice n broth as she wanted..and she ate a lot. Now...she will drink water but literally you can see she doesn't feel good. Is there something I can give her to help her tummy...or do I just let her rest. I feel bad cuz im 100% sure she ate too much after eating not good for her sensitive tummy food! Any suggestions?????? |
I'm so sorry Ruby Sioux is still not feeling well. :( Probably best to just let her tummy rest. Not sure. Praying she feels better soon! |
awww poor baby. and rice can be binding..imo. i would hold off and let her drink as much as she needs that will help her pass it when shes ready. hope shes feeling much better. get well soon. |
Also, have you tried giving her some pedialyte (both of them really)? Since they were vomitting and had diarrhea, it might be good for them to have a little with their water. |
true good thinking non flavored i believe.... |

I wouldn't give her too much different foods right now. Do you have a medicine dropper or a syringe. I don't even measure when I give it to Mandie (the pedialyte). I have a big dropper that I got at Petsmart and I just give her two good dropper fulls. Depending on how much I fluids I think she's lost..2 droppers in the morning and 2 at night. |
How is Ruby doing today, Bobbi? Hope she's feeling better! |
Update on my Ruby--sorry its so late in coming...I ended up in bad weather coming home so didn't get home til 330am and then had a crisis at work so worked til8:00 tonight! UGHHHHHHHHH. :) Terri I think I have a little drama princess on my hand...that or I worry too much n too fast!! :) by the time I got back from the store will all the extras I had a wiggly little stinker meeting me at the door...once she gave me a quick hello dance and kiss she walked over to her food (I free feed her) and water dishes. She drank a bunch and chomped a bunch of kibble and then ran over and terrorized her sister the rest of the night....she must have just gotten a very bad tummy ache cuz She is back to Ruby Sioux with an Attitude!!! :) thanks for all the tips...im glad I bought the pedialyte cuz at least Ill have it on hand if I ever need it!! :) |

Sooo happy to hear Ruby Sioux is back with a tude :) Yay!! |
[QUOTE=rubynrosie;4107028]Ruby is roughly 3.5 lbs and Rosie is 6.5 lbs...any direction on how much pedialyte I should put in their water? I've never done that before! Pedialyte is given in their water bowl instead of regular water....they drink it just like their water....if they dont like the taste....even tho it is the unflavored one....you can cut it with regular water to maybe make it more like tap water, but it is just usually just substituted for their regular drinking water. They are not usually drinking tons and tons of fluids so you really do not have to worry about them "overdosing" on Pedialyte.... But, I am happy you dont need it now....at least you will have it for "next time" !!!! |
