poor little Sadie...................... 1 Attachment(s) resting by the fire, tore her ACL...the vet feels with rest and meds it could heal...PRAYING she doesn't need surgery.. |
Poor baby. Praying she recovers and doesn't need surgery! |
Bless her heart. Keeping Sadie in my prayers. |
oh no i hope that she recovers without surgery! prayers for full healing. |
Poor lil girl .... I'll also be praying that she can fully recover without the need of surgery :( |
Thank you ....It's not just the cost its the surgery itself! My parents little dog had the surgery months go and she STILL limps from time to time. my regular vet wasn't on this morning...had to see the on call vet...although she is very nice I like MY vet....the vet tech there is AWESOME! I spoke with her in length about Sadies leg. she seems to think that it didn't completely tear that there is a tear in it...meaning with meds and rest it could heal...GOD I am praying it heals on it's own...don't want to have to put her through that.. |
I strongly suggest that you see a board certified orthopedic surgeon for a second opinion. To my knowledge, torn cruciate ligament injuries in dogs are not something that will heal without surgical intervention. Oh, the symptoms may improve, but the dog will immediately start to get severe arthritis. I echo ladyjanes comments. Please talk to a board certified acvs surgeon. My 12 year old male had this surgery last year, had unfortunate complications and a long recovery, but today he is running on all four legs and has no limp whatsoever. It was worth every penny and all the aggravation. |
Sending healing prayers for poor sadie |
<3 your baby is in my prayers, poor little thing :-( |

Buster needed surgery for his torn ACL. The surgeon repaired the ACL with a plate and pins. He now runs, swims, occasionaly he will limp or walk funny but without the surgery he would probably have severe arthritis. Please be sure that you see a board certified orthopedic surgeon. This is not a surgery that your regular vet can do. |
poor baby |
I've torn both of mine & have had surgery on both & work for orthopedic surgeons...I can imagine how bad poor little Sadie feels. With humans you can be okay w/out surgery (it won't heal though) but will have pain & buckling with twisting/turning activities. Since a pup can't avoid those activities it's got to be tough for her. Good luck! |
Seymour had ACL surgery this past summer. It went very well. He had to be confined to no running, jumping..... etc. We had an orthopedic specialist do the surgery. She also did some LP repair while she was in there..... awesome job. He didn't require a cast or bandage and the surgery incision looked clean and wasn't a bother to him at all. I, too, suggest you get another opinion.... torn ACL's don't "heal on their own". Good Luck and hope Sadie gets the treatment she needs for painfree and quick healing! |
