Miah is having her surgery tomorrow morning.
 

Well it's time...Miah (Mi Mi) is having surgery tomorrow morning to remove the tumor on her chest. This is a first for me, never in all my years of being a pet owner have I seen any thing like it before. I'm still so very upset with myself for not noticing that it was growing so rapidly sooner than what I did.

This this is out of control. It has gone from the size of a fifty cent piece to the size of a chicken egg when if finally noticed it and now it has grown to the size of a goose egg in just two short months. Plus the vet says that the surgery will not guarantee that this thing will not return.

I've had to reschedule the surgery once already due to conflict with my child care duties. Now I've had to ask my sister if she could pick her (Mi Mi) up from the vets for me afterwards. I'm very thankful that she is able to help me out and bring her home to me, tomorrow.

Please keep my Mi Mi in your thoughts for a smooth and issue free outcome and a safe return home!

Praying for MiMi and that all goes well. Does the vet know what is causing the tumor?

Praying that God will surround Miah and protect her during surgery. I pray that surgery will remove the tumor forever.

You know I'll be praying MiMi's surgery will go uneventfully and her recovery completely by the books. I know you will be worried but try to stay busy as possible until she is home. And don't beat yourself up about not finding it sooner - we're not vets and often don't go over our dogs mashing and palpating for bulges and swelling, etc. You got her in as soon as you knew and you know so many won't take a dog in for vet care until it is bleeding or down. MiMi got your best as soon as you knew! Thank you for being a caring mommie! Let us know when she is awake and what the doc says about what he found. Try to sleep tonight.

No, vet has no idea. We can only hope for the best that it does not come back. She did say that it was a fatty tumor and could posibly come back in the same spot of even another.

I know that I did what I could for her at the time and that I can only do so much. I do hope that this will be the end of that thing forever. I have high hopes but there is still that chance that we will be going through this same thing a year from now.

Update: MiMi is out of surgery, Doc said that all went well. That the tumor came off really well that they were able to get all of it easily with no complications, thank goodness. I did opt to get an oral done on her also. It saved me a lot of money getting it done at the same time as her surgery than if I had done it another time. Doc says that the oral went well. Miah is missing a couple of her molars and has a little staining but that it is normal.

Miah will be home in about 41/2 hrs. I cant wait to get her home. The other three pups are sort of somber without the noise box here to alert them over the slightest little thing. :D

Mi Mi is up and at em with no worries at all. She came busting through the front door yesterday like nothing had happened. I couldn't believe it, It is totally amazing how she is doing after having surgery!

I'm so very grateful and happy that it has not effected her in any life changing ways but I'm not at all impressed with the vet tecks grooming skills or lack of !! They really did a hack job on her ..... they shaved her entire right side of her body, skirt and all.

I guess it time to try out a new hair doe. :D

Glad she's feeling good! Sometimes more hair is removed depending on the type of surgery being done. They may have thought they may have needed to make another incision to get the tumor out... they can't stop mid surgery and shave more hair off. The vet usually tells the techs what size area to shave.

Oh, this is good, good news to hear! I'm sure they shaved a good wide area so they could clean all of the skin anywhere near the incision so it would be as germ-free as possible, in addition to not knowing if they need to enlarge the original incision or insert a scope portal or something and don't want to have to stop, shave more and reclean, etc. Hopefully, she will be all grown back out and feeling fine in no time.

Yes, it just wasn't the same without her here. Very glad that she is home safe and sound.

Update: Mi MI is doing very well, no issues with swelling or any reaction to the meds. Stitches will come out in two weeks.
