Broken tooth / have it removed or root canal? Our 3.5 year old cutie gets real wild when there is dogs on TV and I think during one of these episodes she cracked the outer part of her chewing tooth with the antler we got for her. We saw our vet and she suggested we see a dental specialist for a root canal to see if the tooth can be saved. We have insurance for this pricey operation but I imagine root canal is a tough thing for 9 lbs little yorkie. Anyone has experience with this? Thank you all! |
Sorry I do not have any experience. Bump |
Well, a little different, but Jackson had a vital pulpotomy (or something like that) on his lower canine tooth. He had an issue with a slight overbite where the canine tooth was sharp and poking into his upper palate/gums. Rather than pulling it, which my vet did not want to do because it's such an important tooth, we went to a dental specialist and had the procedure done where they basically shaved down the tooth and then filled in, so it's no longer poking him. Anyway, it was a somewhat easy procedure and he pulled through just fine. Was just very whiny after anesthesia for the rest of the day. We had pre-op bloodwork done ahead of time of course. |
