Oh don't feel bad. None of us are super human..lol..except me:rolleyes:

My too big guys have floppy ears and I battle ear infections all the time. I have to pull the hair out of their ears :eek: makes them real happy...not:(

I am going to try the coconut oil this time on Sammy....tired of the antibodics that don't work!

Antibiotics have their place I would never discourage the use of them, however for yeast studies have show rhey both lack effectiveness in working.

Especially the first time and over use of them in dogs or children with chronic ear infections makes them less effective fir subsequent needs in the future.

I do question general antiibiotica being used for yeast period.

I can only say for my dogs yeast issue coconut oil (raw cold pressed) has been a miracle.

Scoobers gets garlic oil drops in conjunction with oral antibiotics for bacterial infections, sometimess less severe infections just garlic oil.

Your post reminded me of why I googled chronic ear infections when Coco was 9. We were at the Vet every 6 months and I am sure she developed immunity to the antibiotics. I agree coconut oil is great too!

How is the coconut oil used...think I will try this...cant hurt right?:)

Rub it onto skin just like you would a topical antibiotic or monistat.

Careful not to clog ear and I clean out ears after 2 or 3 days of it.

If eaten...too much of it can make pooh soft abd ironically turns pooh a shade of greenish. Canned pumpkin on food instant remedy.

I do add a tsp. to Georgie's food 3 times a week and haven't had any green poo...I am sure I am not alone I examine my boys poo LOL

We use Aunt Ann's cold pressed raw coconit oil for the dogs and as a baby diaper cream along with hpa lanolin.

Anyways during a diaper change once, Princess got into the jar...not sure how much she ate but she had her whole muzzle down on it licking away.

We now use it for dog teeth brushing too no issue there.

Only that one time wgen Princess ate a very significant amount.

I've been putting the oil on Raelle...along with anti-biotic from the doc..seems to be helping, she is no longer scratching at her ears, nor rubbing on the carpet....:D

Thanks for checking in Morgan...ears don't smell anymore either...whew!
Had and infestation of fleas as well...hopefully all gone now...:D Six animals with fleas is NOT a good thing
