merlin up to 10.5 units of caninsulin Merlin my little Yorkie ( a bossy one) is now up to 10.5 units of caninsulin - twice a day. He weights only about 5.5 kg, vet said there is no other infection which can affect the change in insulin level. I think that is very very high for a dog of his size. It all started to be a pain again when he refused Chappie and the vets put him on GI low fat. Since, a nightmare. Anyone who has a dog who is on that level of insulin twice a day, or anybody, please let me know what you think. Many thanks to all of you who read this. |
i have no advice to offer but hope merlin is ok with this dosage. love his name. |
Thanks rubymoon 2072. I am just lost. For a yorkie that is a lot ( I think ), but if that is what to have be done, I will do it. Just wonder the future implications and/or more increase. He is well in himself, just drinks a lot (on and off) and I don't have the knowledge to judge the vets decision. The got the results, they act on them on their best knowledge, maybe have to go back to a specialist (same who stabilised him first after we found out) but insurance money is getting close to limit and we dont have a massive amount left every month to do that. Dont know at the moment. Will keep you updated. Thanks again, very caring!!! |
