Honestly I wouldn't suggest it gor everyone, and ahould have clarified, but I knoe Nooks eould check and double check and when it doubt leacve it out when it cones yo advice for dogs in her care.

I am still fostering him. No has fit the bill of what I am looking for. ESP now he needs to get better first.

He is still breathing fast and hard. He is drinking a lot of water, but still no food. I gave him about 1.5 ml of chicken water through the medicine dropper about an hour ago. He keeps crawling out of his bed and plopping down on the pee pad I put down next to it. He still hasn't peed. Is it normal for them to drink so much water?

I do know that the bacteria in the mouth can travel into their systems and how quickly it can turn ugly. He had his first does of antibiotic this AM, he's not scheduled for another dose until we get home tonight.

I am also spacing out his pain meds. They gave us two kinds. One is twice a day, and one is once a day. I am giving the twice a day one in the AM, and the PM, and the once a day one I give mid day. I did t want to give both at the same time. I was afraid maybe the pain meds were too strong but he's still listing whining from time to time. :(

He keeps having these little coughing fits, like he wants to hack up something, then whines like he's in a lot of pain. I just checked his mouth and there's no obstruction.

On the phone now waiting to speak w the vet.

Gonna bring him back in at 4pm

Poor little Scrappington!!! He's having a bad time! I'm hoping he'll have a better night tonight.

What does the vet say about all his post-op problems? I would be at the ER vets' door 3 or 4 times by now and maybe even remember to bring the poor dog along! (Not proud to say it, but to say I'm a nervous nellie momma is to way under emphasize how I am when a dog is feeling bad or "not right" around me. If I had more than one dog, I would have to just give up and marry an E.R. vet and be done with it.)

I hope the 4pm visit goes well and that your Vet can figure out what is going on. Best wishes and fingers crossed.

It makes me very sad to come and post this update. Sadly, Scraps passed away last night. We're all heartbroken.

RIP Lord Scrapington (AKA El Lenguo the handicapped ninja) Your mom, dad, and sister Uni miss you so much. I know you'll be waiting patiently for them at the Rainbow Bridge.
